There are three undefined terms in Geometry which are: A. Point B. Line C. Plane

Symbols & Terms Description - a location in space Drawing –- Notation of Drawing - Real world example point

Description - a set of points that extends in two directions without end; it has length but no thickness Drawing -- Notation of Drawing - Real world example line Symbols & Terms

Description - a flat surface that extends in all directions without end; it has no thickness Drawing -- Notation of Drawing - Real world example plane Symbols & Terms

Collinear (co-linear) means on the same line. –Any two points are collinear. –More than two points may or may not be collinear.

Symbols & Terms Coplanar (co-planar) means on the same plane. –Points and/or lines may be coplanar. –Any three points are coplanar. –More than three points may or may not be coplanar.

Symbols & Terms Description - points that are on the same line Drawing –- Notation for Drawing - Real world example collinear points

Symbols & Terms Description - points that are in the same plane Drawing –- Notation for Drawing - Real world example coplanar points

Symbols & Terms Description - lines that are in the same plane Drawing –- Notation for Drawing - Real world example coplanar lines

Symbols & Terms Name each line in three different ways. Draw the KL. mE P A R T Are these point collinear? R G..

Symbols & Terms Intersecting lines are lines that meet. –Lines only intersect at one point. Intersecting planes are planes that meet. –When planes intersect, a line is formed.

Symbols & Terms Description - lines that meet Drawing –- Notation of Drawing - Real world example intersecting lines

Symbols & Terms Description - planes that meet Drawing –- Notation of Drawing - Real world example intersecting planes

Draw Plane K containing the points A, L, Z. Draw a Plane H that contains ER intersecting ST at Y.

Draw Plane J that contains noncollinear points G, F, R. Draw WE intersecting plane T at point H.

Draw Plane RTY intersecting plane H at FG.
