2 NDIIPPMARCH 20032 NDIIPP Goal To develop a nationwide collection and preservation strategy for digital materials in cooperation with the information and technology industry, concerned federal agencies, libraries, research institutions and not-for-profit entities.

3 NDIIPPMARCH 20033 NDIIPP Legislation and Funding Builds on experience with American Memory/National Digital Library Program Created by federal legislation (PL 106-554) in December 2000 Makes Up to $175 million potentially available –$5 million (available immediately to support planning) –$20 million (subject to Congressional approval received January 6, 2003) –$75 million (subject to $ for $ match from non federal sources) –$75 million (private funds)
