4. What happened? Little solider Marie confesses to Gail who is the mother of David that many native Americans like herself are being sexually abused by Uncle Frank. Gail explains this to David's father Wes about his brother Frank. “ He makes them jump up and down while he watches. He fondles their breast”. Wes initially does not believe this shocking news “ I wish you wouldn’t have told the sheriff” Frank confesses when Wes talks to him about this situation. Wes and Frank make an agreement that Frank will stay prisoned in Wes’s home. Franks reaction to all of this Frank feels deeply ashamed by this situation because he had been caught out. Frank doesn’t want the town to know about his sins as he is the “Fallen Hero” of the town. As a result Frank commits suicide, this shows that he is weak and cowardly because he wants to take the easy way out.

5. Characters personality Charming towards people that aren't native Americans. Evil to native Americans. Frank has power over many things for example: his patients, women, he also tries to have power over Wes. Franks afraid that people will find out about his dirty secret. Witty, charismatic and two faced.

6. How we would describe the characters personality. Frank seems very Arrogant in this novel, He wants things to work out his way and his way only. Frank seems very oblivious to these situations and thinks that no one knows his secrets.. His Arrogance leads him to believe he wont be caught. Frank is rude to these native Americans. He is also selfish and cowardly towards the ending.

7. What do other characters say about the character? Gail says to Wes “your brother is raping these women” you can tell that Gail is disgusted in this quote because how she has said it. Julian the grandfather calls Frank the “fallen hero” because he had came back from war. Julian believes in Frank more then Wes because Frank was the fallen hero and the doctor who the town loved, but Wes was just the sheriff.
