4 1,4 Dioxane - When to Assess “Emerging Contaminant” http://www.mass.gov/eea/agencies/massdep/toxics/sources/14-dioxane.html Found with chlorinated solvents (used as stabilizer), especially 1,1,1-TCA Exposure concern for drinking water ORS drinking water guideline and 2014 MCP GW-1 standard 0.3 ug/l Requires modification/use of more sensitive analytical methods to achieve GW-1 standard Reporting Limit

5 1,4-Dioxane Guidance on Sampling and Analysis When it is appropriate to analyze for 1,4- dioxane in groundwater at 21E sites Summarizes physical and chemical properties, environmental health impacts, existing state and federal standards and guidelines Lists 1,4-dioxane sources (products/processes) Identifies appropriate analytical methods
