2 ADVISORY ROLE OF THE LABOUR INSPECTORATE PREVENTIVE ACTIVITY CONVENTION NO. 81 CONCERNING LABOUR INSPECTION IN INDUSTRY AND COMMERCE Notices and technical advice LABOUR INSPECTION ACT Article 4 provides basis for preventive activity LABOUR INSPECTORATE OF THE RS - provides employers and employees with PROFESSIONAL ASSISTANCE (in implementing laws, regulations, collective agreements, legal acts in the field of labour, etc.) INSPECTION CONTROL ACT

3 ADVISORY ROLE OF THE LABOUR INSPECTORATE COLLABORATION LABOUR INSPECTORATE OF THE RS COLLABORATES with - other inspections - employment offices - institutes of public health - pension and disability insurance institutes - trade unions - professional associations (workers and employers) - research organisations and experts in the field of safety and health at work - participates in preparation of laws and implementing regulations in the field it covers.

4 INSPECTORATE WEBPAGE ADVISORY ROLE OF THE LABOUR INSPECTORATE THE WEB PAGES PROVIDE; - Important information from the Inspectorate’s field of work. - Electronic communications provide high level of anonymity. Offering professional assistance most often refers to: - duration and taking annual leave, reimbursement of expenses, protected categories, working time, concluding contracts, termination of employment contract, discrimination, etc. Answers have preventive effect and increase the Inspectorate’s efficiency. Web pages also present the image of the Inspectorate to the public.

5 ADVISORY ROLE OF THE LABOUR INSPECTORATE SPECIAL CONFERENCE LABOUR INSPECTORATE OF THE RS For the past few years, the Inspectorate has organised a special conference for the expert public, experts on safety and health at work, labour law, inspectors, occupational medicine, representatives of Universities, employees’ representatives and employers. TOPICS 2008: HARRASMENT AND MOBBING AT THE WORKPLACE 2007: AGEING OF LABOUR FORCE 2006: ALCOHOL AND OTHER DRUGS AT THE WORKPLACE 2005: OCCUPATIONAL DISEASES 2004: RISK ASSESSMENT AND THE PROBLEM OF WORK ACCIDENTS

6 ADVISORY ROLE OF THE LABOUR INSPECTORATE ACTIVITY REPORT The Inspectorate also prepares ACTIVITY REPORTS. In addition to statistical data, it also includes proposals and measures to solve issues in the field of work. Reports are public information and available at the Inspectorate’s web pages. In terms of preventive actions: - individuals’ questions in writing are answered, - the general public is informed via various media, - to ensure compliance with individual legal acts, it is also possible to publish acts.
