Cliques go through an irregular membership change When members are ejected from the group others are accepted to take there place Often specific group activities characterize the cliqueresulting in membership inclusion and outsider exclusion

4 Techniques of exclusions
Exclusivity is an important characteristic of cliques Exclusivity is the driving force behind the desirability and power of cliques. People want to be in cliques because of exclusivity, if you are in one then it shows you have what it takes. Clique leaders maintain exclusivity by excluding people from their cliques. For example if a person wants to be in a clique but the people don’t think that this person has what it takes to properly reflect their clique, they wont hang out with this person.
