5 About SOES ✿ SOES is located on 300 hectares of land adjacent to Algonquin Park, providing a unique and unheard of experience for our students to visit some of Ontario’s most remote landscape. ✿ The old Scarborough Board of Ed. bought the property in 1978 and it has been in operation for students ever since. ✿ SOES staff are AMAZING at helping students connect with nature in a meaningful, safe, learning environment.

6 Platinum Eco School ●Students become more aware of their ecological footprint, systems thinking and ecological literacy; ●Students take action; from being responsible for what they put on their own plate to helping conserve energy and resources on site; ●Programming possibilities like an Earth Repair Project combine meaningful action with environmental learning.
