2. MEASURING SPIRITUAL DEPTH Spiritual depth is a measurement of how immersed one is in his faith. (Revelation 2:24; Ephesians 3:16-19) Shallowness is a common problem (Matt. 16:5-12; Luke 10:38-42; Rom. 14:16-17) We need to take soundings -- to measure our depth! (cf. Acts 27:28)

A SPIRITUAL DEPTH FINDER Soundings… Depth in the Word (Matthew 13:5-21; Psalms 1:2; 63:6; 119:15, 97, 148; 2 Timothy 2:15) Depth in Prayer (1 Thess. 5:17; James 1:6-8; Matthew 26:37-45; 1 Peter 4:7; Ephesians 6:18; Colossians 4:2; Romans 15:30; Psalm 130:1-2) Depth in Worship (Psalm 122:1; 29:2) Depth of Love (1 John 4:10-12; 3:14-18) Depth of Change (Eph. 2:1-3; Colossians 3:5-10; Titus 3:3-5)

(Ephesians 3:16-19) How deep the Father’s love for us, How vast beyond all measure, That He should give His only Son To make a wretch His treasure. Why should I gain from His reward? I cannot give an answer; But this I know with all my heart His wounds have paid my ransom.
