2. Historical Description The artist in the group were Franz Marc, and Vassily Kandinsky. Both of them liked blue, and horses which lead to the name of the group. Improvisation 28 by Kandinsky was the first completely abstract painting. “Artists must express spirit and feeling by orchestrating color, form, line, and space”, is said by Kandinsky to explain his interest in formalism and music.

4. Fate of the Animals, Franz Marc WW1 about to start when painted Marc’s perception of human beings being deeply flawed lead to him only painting animals. Distorted Shattered into fragments Colors of severity and brutality “Fate of the Animals is like a premonition of this war-horrible and shattering. I can hardily conceive that I painted it.” Franz Marc. He later died in WW1 in 1916.
