12/1/15 Entry Task In your lab group come up with a definition of pressure. Everyone write down the group’s definition! Be prepared to share. ** Turn in Thermal Expansion Lab Sheet and Conclusion

12/1/15 Gas Pressure Notes What will happen when the particle hit the wall of the container? As the particles of the gas collide with the container, they will exert a force on the container. The average force per unit of area is the average pressure of gas.
4
Pressure force acts perpendicular to the container.
5
If the volume of gas in a container is halved then the number of collisions with the wall doubles. Therefore, the pressure in container b is twice that of container a.

Peeps in a vacuum chamber https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fxLY1SGXV_E Initial ideas on white board: Why did the peeps expand when you removed the air from the bell jar? Include 3 particle diagrams: at the beginning, after all the air was pumped out of the chamber after the air was let back into the chamber.
