Narnia Bar Charts LO: to solve a problem by organising and interpreting data in bar charts.
2
What do we know about bar charts already?
3
We know a bar chart should:
* have a title. * have numbered and labelled axis. * have clear bars showing how much of something has been observed/recorded. * be numbered with sensible intervals. * answer questions about the data.
4
A bar chart always has a title.
It might also have a ‘legend’. A bar chart always has a title. Vertical axis (y). Always labelled and numbered. This shows what the colour of each bar represents. The height of the bars show how many of something was scored/recorded. Horizontal axis (x). Always labelled.
5
How can we collect the information we need to construct a bar chart?
6
Make a frequency chart!
7
A frequency chart is similar to a tally chart…except you just write the number instead of recording by tally!
