2 What is (not) OSS organization?
Not a factory. Not a firm. Not a market. Not for profit. No ownership structure.

3 Organizational Alternatives (After Langlois 1999)
Work force concentrated Work force dispersed Process supervision Factory system Product monitoring Inside contracting Putting out and OSS organization of work? But... Putting out sees competition among workers. OSS sees cooperation among workers.

4 Then... Why is such organization possible?
Why can it persist through time? Is there nonetheless a theoretical – or even historical – organizational ideal-type whose characteristics it does more-or-less resemble, e.g., the putting-out? One Key? Sharing of input and output (nonrival intangibles).
