1 Writing a Friendly Letter
Mrs. Bromley 2nd Grade

2 Purpose “If you want to write a note Or tell someone about your day,
Try writing a friendly letter. It’s a quick and easy way!”

3 Parts 1 and 2 Start with the heading,
Including the month, day, and year. Then add the salutation, Which usually begins with Dear.

4 Part 1: Heading Example: November 5, 2007

5 Part 2: Opening (Salutation)
Example: Dear Elves,

6 Part 3 The body is next, A really important part.
Share a story, ask a question, Or say what’s in your heart.

7 Part 3: The Body Example:
Thank you so much for making all the shoes. You have been so very kind to me and my wife.

8 Parts 4 and 5 The closing uses words Like Sincerely or Your friend,
And with your signature, Your letter has come to an end.

9 Part 4: The Closing Examples: Your friend, Sincerely, Yours truly,
From, Love,

10 Part 5: Signature Example: The Shoemaker

11 Conclusion Don’t forget to proofread it
So your work will look even better Now you’re done, my friend. You’ve written a friendly letter.
