1 History Of Airplanes By: Terina Lualemaga

2 The First Airplane The first airplane was made by the Wright Brothers. They were successful with their 1902 glider. During the spring and summer of 1903, they made history. On December 17, 1903, Wilbur and Orville had made 4 flights at Kitty Hawk with their first powered aircraft. They invented the first successful airplane.

3 Wright Brothers The Wright Brothers have two older brothers, Reuchlin and Lorin, and a younger sister, Katharine. Their father Milton was a Bishop and his mother Susan was a very educated person and she also stimulated the Wright Brothers interest in mechanical things and would also let them use their father’s tools. That’s why they probably wanted to invent airplanes.

5 What Is The Name Of The Largest Plane Ever?
The largest plane in the world is called the “Flying Boat”, (aka) Spruce Goose. Its about 400,000 pounds!!!!

7 Interesting Stories Ever since man saw birds fly, man has wanted to fly!!! A lot of people try to fly, so they put on feathers and fake wings and their goal is to try to fly. But they fail to accomplish their goal! This is where the airplanes come in! Since man cant fly, they thought they could create something that can. So, the Wright Brothers invented the first plane and they made 4 flights!!!

8 Airplane Crashes From 1988 to 2007 there was an average of about 36 airplane crashes per year. A recent plane crash: The aircraft crashed and disintegrated one-half a mile from the runway while attempting to land at Tripoli International Airport. Ninety-two passenger and a crew of 11 were killed. A 8 year old Dutch boy was the sole survivor.

9 Most Expensive Airplane
The most expensive airplane is called the, Advanced Technology bomber, (aka) ATB! It costs $23 billion. It was built for defense against enemies. The project didn’t turn out as expected. So they had to redesign the ATB. After they redesigned the project, its cost was $23 billion.

10 Jets The new jet that was just made can go about, 700 mph.
It costs $50 million!
