Fluorescent uses gas in a light bulb and incandescent uses a filament a solid material that gets hot. 3.What is the speed of light? 300,000 km per second. 4. Distinguish between opaque, translucent and transparent. Opaque, light can’t travel through. Transparent is clear, light almost totally goes through. Translucent is like some light can go through.

Air - slow Space - does not travel at all Water - somewhat fast Steel - very fast 5. What materials could you use to absorb sound, why would you want to absorb sound? Where does the sound energy go? Fiberglass sound board is very good because the fiberglass vibrates and heats up. This is used to quiet room.
