I taught my turkey how to tango… His name is Fred. He’s from Durango…

In a tux, he looks so chic, with a rose held in his beak.

And he does a nice fandango.

Now Freddie teaches how to tango…

to all his buddies from Durango…

Peter Panda, Betty Bear- they all think he’s Fred Astaire- even Al Oragutango.

He’s suave and graceful...

He would never trip or hobble…

He’s got that polish… like a diamond or a bauble.

He’s fine and clever…

and his feathers never wobble…

Though it is true that…

when he dances, he will gobble.

He’ll teach the tango…

and he’ll always be so perky.

But he won’t teach to…

anyone who’s being quirky.

From San Francisco,

to New York and Albuquerque…

he’ll teach the tango…

Just remember he’s a turkey.

Thanksgiving Day

It is the time to gather near- our fondest thoughts of now and here.

To think of all we are and give, our blessings and the lives we live.

Our loving hearts with thanks will fill- for all the love we have and will.

We’ll join hands and so we’ll stay together on Thanksgiving Day.

If only once in every year we stop to think of all that’s dear,

Perhaps we learn to cherish more the precious things life has in store.

Our gentle pause will bring to mind reflections of our happy times.

So now we’ll sing, and then we’ll play together on Thanksgiving Day.

Thanksgiving Time

It’s that time of year again
It’s that time of year again. We put aside complaints and think of all we have.

There’s no room for grumbling here
There’s no room for grumbling here. We make a list of things we’re thankful for this year.

And I can see family; the good times we have shared.

And I can see friendships; the many who have cared.

When I think of Thanksgivingtime, I am reminded of the things that make living a joy.

Now we take this time to say that we are thankful for the good that comes our way.

So together we will sing and let the sound of thankful hearts begin to ring.

And I can see family; the good times we have shared.

And I can see friendships; the many who have cared.

When I think of Thanksgivingtime, I am reminded of the things that make living a joy.

Thanksgiving Rap

The turkeys in the oven. You can bet that I am loving all the good things that are cooking and are looking so fine.

The relatives are everywhere- in the kitchen, in the chairs- with their noses in the air, they’re waiting for the sign.

The T.V. is a blaring, lots of guys are sitting, staring, wanting football to begin and the marching bands to go away.

The ladies mostly hustle in the thick of all the bustle, and the kids are being cool Thanksgiving Day.

Yum, yum. Put it in my tummy, say yum, yum. I’m a turkey gourmet.

Yum, yum. Put it in my tummy, say yum, yum. Thanksgiving Day.

The turkey’s on the table, now we’re willing and we’re able to begin this awesome feast that’s going to satisfy.

Pass the mashed potatoes, pass the gravy, pass the dressing; heap it on but leave some room for all that righteous pumpkin pie.

Everyone is moaning, they are groaning, they are crying ‘cause they didn’t have the will to push their plates away.

Now they’re all asleep around the room all in a heap, except the kids- they’re being cool. Thanksgiving Day.

Yum, yum. Put it in my tummy, say yum, yum. I’m a turkey gourmet.

Yum, yum. Put it in my tummy, say yum, yum. Thanksgiving Day.

Over the River and Through the Woods

Over the river and through the woods to Grandmother’s house we go.

The horse knows the way to carry the sleigh through white and drifted snow.

Over the river and through the woods, oh, how the wind does blow.

It stings the toes and bites the nose as over the ground we go.

Over the river and through the woods to Grandmother’s house we go.

The horse knows the way to carry the sleigh through white and drifted snow.

Over the river and through the woods, oh, how the wind does blow.

It stings the toes and bites the nose as over the ground we go.

Over the river and through the woods and through the barnyard gate.

We seem to go extremely slow. It is so hard to wait.

Over the river and through the woods, now Grandmother’s cap I spy.

Hurrah for the fun. Is the pudding done? Hurrah for the pumpkin pie.

Hurrah for the fun. Is the pudding done? Hurrah for the pumpkin pie.
