2 Finances How to live in His will financially?

3 Money Talks But Mine Only Says Goodbye.

As ek verstaan hoe vrygewig Vader teenoor my was. So hoe kan ons daaraan dink om vir ander te gee as ons self sukkel om deur te kom? Die sleutel is ons ervaring van Vader se Onverdiende Guns. Giving is a blessing, not a burden.

6 - Grace produces deep joy during great adversity
- Grace produces deep joy during great adversity. - Grace enables rich generosity even during extreme poverty Grace changes my focus from what I can get to what I can give. - Grace transforms my natural bent of wanting to have into wanting to help. - Grace is personified in Jesus Christ, who "though He was rich, yet for your sakes He became poor, so that you through His poverty might become rich" Giving is not a burden but a grace in which we are called to excel.

7 Deut 28:12 hwhy will open to you His good treasure, the heavens, to give the rain to your land in its season, and to bless all the work of your hand. You shall lend to many nations, but you shall not borrow.

25 Mark 6:31-44 The feeding of the 5000

26 1. Inspiration 2. Delegation 3. Organization 4. Utilization 5
1. Inspiration 2. Delegation 3. Organization 4. Utilization 5. Multiplication 6. Realization 7. Conservation and over-flow

27 1. Inspiration: The disciples felt they have done enough "send them away" - Yeshua inspires them with a vision of doing more." give them to eat" - We need to hear from heaven and not work out our own fancy schemes.

28 2. Delegation: Food did not miraculously appear in the hands of the people. He gave responsibilities to people through whom He performed the provision.

29 3. Organization: Then He commanded them all to sit down in groups
3. Organization: Then He commanded them all to sit down in groups. We must have sound and wise organization.

30 4. Utilization: We must begin using what we have, even if it is only 5 loaves and 2 fishes. We begin to give what we are and have to Him and will be amazed what He is able to do with that. You can not give what you do not have and own.

31 5. Multiplication: All our planning and principles will not work if we have not met with the God of the impossible. The God of miracles. The disciples knew they can not do the task with what they have but had to trust and obey and see the miracles. We can only move into this if we live in co-operation with the God of miracles through trust.

32 6. Realization: We can realize our goal. The task was accomplished.

33 7. Conservation and over flow: Lastly Yeshua told them to not waste what was left. God is providing liberally but never must it be wasted. Spend wisely. And there was 12 baskets left. Minister to others and hwhy-God will also abundantly supply in your own needs.

34 TRUST GIVING IS MONEY hwhy-GOD GIVES THROUGH YOU WHICH HE WOULD NOT GIVE TO YOU IF HE DID NOT TRUST YOU TO PASS IT ON. IT IS NOT TO GIVE WHAT YOU DO NOT HAVE.

35 - Trust God and hear from Him how much He wants to give through you to a person in His service!! - Not according to your ability but according to His. - Let hwhy-God tell you exactly how much He wants you to trust Him for. - Know that you can always receive His provision for His purpose.

36 hwhy-God's promises to givers

37 Prov 3:9-10 Honor hwhy with your substance, and with the firstfruits of all your increase, 10 and your barns shall be filled with plenty, and your vats shall be bursting with new wine.

38 Prov 22:9 He who has a beneficent eye shall be blessed; for he gives of his bread to the poor.

39 Ecc 11:1 Cast your bread upon the waters; for you shall find it after many days.

40 Isa 58: Is not this the fast that I have chosen: To loose the bonds of wickedness, to undo the heavy burdens, and to let the oppressed go free, and that you break every yoke? 7 Is it not to break your bread to the hungry, and that you should bring home the wandering poor? When you see the naked to cover him; and not hide yourself from your own flesh? 8 Then shall your light break forth as the dawn, and your health shall spring forth speedily; and your righteousness shall go before you; the glory of hwhy shall bring up the rear. 9 Then you shall call, and hwhy will answer; you shall cry out, and He shall say, Here I am. If you take the yoke away from your midst, the pointing of the finger, and speaking wickedness; 10 and if you extend your soul to the hungry, and satisfy the afflicted soul; then shall your light shine in the darkness, and your darkness shall be as the noonday. 11 And hwhy shall guide you continually and satisfy your soul in dry places, and make your bones fat; and you shall be like a watered garden, and like a spring of water, whose waters do not fail.

41 Mal 3:8,10 Will a man rob God. Yet you have robbed Me
Mal 3:8,10 Will a man rob God? Yet you have robbed Me. But you say, How have we robbed You? In the tithe and the offering. 9 You are cursed with a curse, for you have robbed Me, even this whole nation. 10 Bring all the tithe into the storehouse, so that there may be food in My house, and test Me now with this, says hwhy of Hosts, whether I will not open the windows of heaven for you and pour out a blessing until there is not enough room to store it.

42 Matt 10:42 And whoever gives one of these little ones only a cup of cold water in the name of a disciple, truly I say to you, he shall by no means lose his reward.

43 Matt 19: Jesus said to him, If you want to be perfect, go, sell what you have and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in Heaven; and come, follow Me. 22 But when the young man heard that saying, he went away sorrowful, for he had many possessions. 23 Then Jesus said to His disciples, Truly, I say to you that it is hard for a rich man to enter the kingdom of Heaven. 24 And again I say to you, it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God. 25 When His disciples heard it, they were greatly astonished, saying, Who then can be saved? 26 But Jesus looked at them and said to them, With men this is impossible, but with God all things are possible. 27 Then Peter answered and said to Him, Behold, we have left everything and followed You. What then will there be for us? 28 And Jesus said to them, Truly I say to you, that in the regeneration, when the Son of Man sits on the throne of His glory, you who have followed Me will also sit on twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel. 29 And everyone who has left houses or brothers or sisters or father or mother or wife or children or lands, for My name, shall receive a hundredfold, and inherit eternal life. 30 But many who are first will be last, and the last first.

44 Matt 25: Then the King will say to those on His right hand, Come, you blessed of My Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world: 35 for I was hungry and you gave Me something to eat; I was thirsty and you gave Me something to drink; I was a stranger and you took Me in; 36 I was naked and you clothed Me; I was sick and you visited Me; I was in prison and you came to Me. 37 Then the righteous will answer Him, saying, Lord, when did we see You hungry and feed You, or thirsty and give You drink? 38 When did we see You a stranger and take You in, or naked and clothe You? 39 Or when did we see You sick, or in prison, and come to You? 40 And the King will answer and say to them, Truly, I say to you, inasmuch as you did it to one of the least of these My brethren, you did it to Me.

45 Luke 6:38 Give, and it will be given to you: good measure, pressed down, shaken together, and running over it will be put into your bosom. For with the same measure that you use, it will be measured back to you.

46 2 Cor 9:6-12 But this I say: He who sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and he who sows bountifully will also reap bountifully. 7 So let each one give as he purposes in his heart, not from sorrow or out of duty; for God loves a cheerful giver. 8 And God is able to make all grace abound toward you, that you, always having all sufficiency in everything, may abound for every good work. 9 As it is written: He has dispersed abroad, He has given to the poor; His righteousness endures forever. 10 Now may He who supplies seed to the sower, and bread for eating, supply and multiply the seed you have sown and increase the fruits of your righteousness, 11 while you are enriched in everything unto all sincerity, which causes thanksgiving through us to God. 12 For the ministry of this service not only supplies what is lacking to the saints, but also is abounding through many thanksgivings to God, 13 through the proof of this ministry, they glorify God for your professed obedience to the gospel of Christ, and for your liberal sharing with them and all men,

47 Hebr 6:10 For God is not unjust, to forget your work and labor of love which you have shown toward His name, in that you have ministered to the saints, and do minister. 11 And we desire that each one of you show the same diligence to the full assurance of hope unto the end, 12 that you do not become slothful, but imitate those who through faith and patience inherit the promises.

48 The overall attitude is to bless the kingdom
The overall attitude is to bless the kingdom. What can I do or increase to bless the Kingdom. Once this is our attitude and desire - God can use us most effectively.

49 2 Cor 9:6- But this I say: He who sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and he who sows bountifully will also reap bountifully. 7 So let each one give as he decided in his heart, not from sorrow or out of duty; for God loves a cheerful giver.

50 8 And God is able to make all grace abound toward you, that you, always having all sufficiency in everything, may abound for every good work. 9 As it is written: He has dispersed abroad, He has given to the poor; His righteousness endures forever.

51 10 Now may He who supplies seed to the sower, and bread for eating, supply and multiply the seed you have sown and increase the fruits of your righteousness, 11 while you are enriched in everything unto all sincerity, which causes thanksgiving through us to God.

52 12 For the ministry of this service not only supplies what is lacking to the saints, but also is abounding through many thanksgivings to God, 13 through the proof of this ministry, they glorify God for your professed obedience to the gospel of Christ, and for your liberal sharing with them and all men,

53 It is clear - The measure with which you give is the measure used to give to you. If you can be trusted, God will bless you with more because He knows you will bless the Kingdom with more.

54 When do we give, how, to whom?

55 In Psalm 24 David declares, "The earth is hwhy's, and all it contains
In Psalm 24 David declares, "The earth is hwhy's, and all it contains." - That includes your money, income, possessions, house and all the things you love - yourself, your wife, kids - or am I reading this wrong?? - Take a minute and be quiet and then take up stock of your world - does it belong to hwhy or only some of it?

56 I am trying to establish a Biblical mindset before we talk about money and finances and giving. SO - If all belongs to Him in my thinking and practice - why do I have problems with any kind of giving? - it is, for that matter, not mine to refuse.

57 In 1 Cor 4:7 the apostle Sha'ul asks, "And what do you have that you did not receive?" OK - so it is mine - I received it and that is why I can give - because I can not give what is not mine. It is not mine if I do not understand that my possession is only as caretaker - it is His in any case - AND - it is mine to give because it was placed in my care - hwhy-God, the Owner, is a Giver.

58 In Deut 8:18 God told us that He was the One giving us the power to make wealth. "But you shall remember hwhy your God, for it is He Who is giving you power to make wealth, through which He may confirm His covenant which He swore to your fathers, as it is this day."

59 Just when people think they can say: "I have worked hard for my money and I've earned it to use it on myself" "I deserve something for myself." hwhy-God reminds us Who gave us the strength and the ability. It is not your boss paying you every month; it is through him that hwhy-God provides. It is by His power for His good and for the sake of the Kingdom. That should be our mindset.

60 God owns everything, gives us the ability to make a living, and wants us to recognize that everything comes from Him. We simply are stewards of the things He has entrusted to us, and part of being a good steward is giving back to hwhy, as He expects and commands. It's not that hwhy needs our money. Rather, giving serves as a testimony that hwhy owns both the material and spiritual things of our lives. An attitude which will be blessed by hwhy.

61 The history of giving in the Bible

62 After the fall of man - we see as early as Adam and Hava's children the giving of a sacrifice of their produce - that is the one way of giving to God. As early as the book of Genesis, we find Avraham giving something called a "tithe" to the priest Malki-Tzedek. In Hebrew, the word tithe is maaser. The literal meaning of the word is tenth with the applied meaning in Scripture as "first tenth".

63 Avraham tithed in Genesis 14 after returning from the rescue of his nephew Lot from four enemy kings. When he encountered Malki-Tzedek, he voluntarily surrendered to him one-tenth of all the spoils he had taken from his enemies. Genesis 14:20; Hebrews 7:2-6 - Important to notice: He did not first deduct his operational cost and expenses to obtain these!!!!

64 Gen 28:22 And this stone which I have set as a pillar shall be God's house, and of all that You give me I will tithe to give a tithe to You.

65 People sometimes argue that the tithe was part of the Moshe Law and doesn't apply to modern-day Believers, who are not under the law. But Avraham tithed some 430 years before the Law was given to Moshe. In any case it is not the law of Moshe but of God - Who never changes.

66 Furthermore, even in the days of Moshe, the tithe was not a law
Furthermore, even in the days of Moshe, the tithe was not a law. Although it appears in the legal book of Leviticus (chapter 27), there is no punishment associated with the failure to tithe. However, there is a consequence: loss of blessings.

67 New Covenant??? If you look at Mat 23:23 + Luke 11:42 correctly you will see that physical tithing must now accompany giving in Spiritual things and is not abolished.

68 Mat 23:23 Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites
Mat 23:23 Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you pay tithe of mint and anise and cumin, and have disregarded the weightier matters of the law: judgment and mercy and faith. It is necessary to do these, and not to leave the others undone.

69 How much is a tithe?

70 I believe that giving was meant to be individualized, even in Moshe's time. It never was intended that everyone should give the same but that each should give according to his or her abundance and conviction. One-tenth was the minimum, but the book of Deuteronomy lists several additional offerings described as tithes . Thus, it's likely that those who could, gave much more than 10 % in those days.

71 Couples and companies who cannot commit a tenth of their fruit to God should examine their spending and living habits. They are stealing because tithing speaks of the first tenth that belongs to God. Mal 3 says that you can steal from God by taking the tithe, and offerings which should go to Him. This is serious. You can not make calculations on your spending by including the FIRST PORTION that belongs tot God!! If you do that, you steal.

72 I find 3 types of giving in the Bible. Tithes Offerings Alms

73 Offerings 1 Cor 16:1, 2 Now concerning the collection for the saints, as I have given orders to the churches of Galatia, so also you do: 2 On the first day of the week let each one of you lay something aside, storing up from whatever he is prospered, that there be no collections when I come.

74 2 Cor 9:6-8 But this I say: He who sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and he who sows bountifully will also reap bountifully. 7 So let each one give as he decided in his heart, not from sorrow or out of duty; for God loves a cheerful giver. 8 And God is able to make all grace abound toward you, that you, always having all sufficiency in everything, may abound for every good work.

75 Alms 2 Cor 9:9 As it is written: He has dispersed abroad, He has given to the poor; His righteousness endures forever.

76 Result 2 Cor 9: Now may He who supplies seed to the sower, and bread for eating, supply and multiply the seed you have sown and increase the fruits of your righteousness, 11 while you are enriched in everything unto all sincerity, which causes thanksgiving through us to God. 12 For the ministry of this service not only supplies what is lacking to the saints, but also is abounding through many thanksgivings to God,

77 13 through the proof of this ministry, they glorify God for your professed obedience to the gospel of Christ, and for your liberal sharing with them and all men, 14 and by their prayer for you, who long for you because of the surpassing grace of God in you. 15 Thanks be to God for His indescribable gift.

78 Where should the tithe go?

79 Mal 3:10, the tithe was supposed to be brought into the storehouse, which was a place where the Jews delivered their offerings of grain or animals. This was at the temple in Yerushalayim as well as at the synagogues in the local areas. The Storehouse is from where those appointed by God can live from, ministry can function and can be used according to His laws of taking care of the needs of His children.

80 The storehouse had specific functions: 1 - Feeding the tribe of Levi
The storehouse had specific functions: Feeding the tribe of Levi. Those who minister) - Num 18: Caring for believers Deut14: Caring for Gentile poor Deut 14:29 It is always in that order - that is important.

81 Ideally, the local fellowship should serve as the storehouse in God's economy today, if they sow in the Kingdom. God has designed the congregation (house church) to carry out vital social functions similar to those funded by the storehouse. Fellowships also should take care of those who teach and guide them . Remember that you cannot sit under the teaching of a teacher without supporting them financially 1 Tim 5:17-18

82 1 Cor 9:7 Who ever serves military duty at his own expense
1 Cor 9:7 Who ever serves military duty at his own expense? Who plants a vineyard and does not eat of its fruit? Or who tends a flock and does not drink of the milk of the flock? 8 Do I say these things only as a man? Or does not the Law say the same also? 9 For it is written in the Law of Moshe, You shall not muzzle an ox while it treads out the grain. Is it oxen God is concerned about? Deut 25:4; 10 Or does He say it altogether for our sakes? For our sakes, no doubt, this is written, that he who plows should plow in hope, and he who threshes in hope should be partaker of his hope. 11 If we have sown spiritual things to you, is it a great thing if we reap your material things?

83 Important concept to the House congregation movement
Important concept to the House congregation movement. When people left the "Church" they stopped giving and sows where-ever. You still have a first priority and responsibility to those teaching you and then to those in need in your group and then to those in need at other fellowships. Then you can go outside with your provision.

84 One of the major causes of arguments among couples is money, and one spouse may oppose giving a tenth to God's work. However, if both spouses are Believers, they should have a desire to please hwhy.

85 Should we calculate our tithe based on gross incomes (before deductions) or net incomes (after deductions)? According, to Prov 3:9-10, God has asked for our first fruits, which is the first and best of all that we receive. Therefore, we should tithe from our total income before taxes. When we calculate our tithes based on net income, we put the government or whatever ahead of God. This to me shows a wrong attitude.

86 When we think of tithing, offerings or alms, most of us only think of giving money. But giving non-cash assets, such as food or whatever we produce is just as valid.

87 Now that we looked at the basic principles - let us look from all angles what scripture says.

88 Peshitta Tanakh Own translation Deut 14:22- 29

89 14:22 "You shall definitely tithe all the produce from what you sow, which comes out of the field every year." As seen, God expects the first portion, 10% or more, of my harvest or income. Notice again - not after deducting my expenses. As Torah-true born-from above Child of God I trust that you will grow in this understanding. We are too quick to deduct as much as we can before giving.

90 - Definitely means that it is a fixed command of God - you will do good to obey. - Every year - not only some times when things seems good - regularly as you receive income. For the farmer it is once a year - for the worker each month or week. - Doesn't seem to me to be the profit from the harvest - but from the whole harvest - perhaps its only me. - It is not necessary to harvest the complete field first - the first portion goes to God even before the rest is harvested.

91 14:23 "You shall eat in the presence of hwhy your God, at the place where He chooses to establish His Name, the tithe of your grain, your new wine, your oil, and the firstborn of your herd and your flock, so that you may learn to fear hwhy your God always." I believe this is referring to the time of the Feasts, when the tithing is taken to Yerushalayim, to the storehouses. You can use it for yourselves as you please - Deut 12:17

92 hwhy-God commands this, with the family, to be done at Yerushalayim
hwhy-God commands this, with the family, to be done at Yerushalayim. He only commanded them to go there 3 times a year - during the feasts. So this must be one of those times. The people do not have food for a feast yet…hwhy-God knows this and give His Own for them to feast with!!! It is His, even if you have nothing. He invites you! To acknowledge your dependency on hwhy-God and fear only Him.

93 14:24 "If the distance is so great for you that you are not able to bring the tithe, since the place where hwhy your God chooses to set His Name is too far away from you when hwhy your God blesses you," God does not want to make it difficult or a burden - it must be an enjoyable feast 14:25 then you shall exchange it for money, and bind the money in your hand and go to the place which hwhy your God chooses." Bind on your hand means not to use it for anything else - it is designated for the feast

94 14:26 "You may spend the money on whatever your heart desires: for oxen, or sheep, or wine, or strong drink, or whatever your heart desires; and there you shall eat in the presence of hwhy your God and rejoice, you and your household." You do not have to buy the same things as was sold with your tithe. You can buy what you desire, because it is a feast of God to be enjoyed. You are only to eat in the presence of God - not where you desire. This is His feast, with His money and provision. The rest stays in the storehouse .

95 Strong drink was allowed for non-priests and non-Levites
Strong drink was allowed for non-priests and non-Levites. Priests and Levites were not allowed to drink when doing service. We as priests of the Kingdom should remember that. We are in His service. Are you a priest? It is a family feast like all feasts. The family is important to God.

96 14:27 "Also you shall not neglect the Levite who is in your town, for he has no portion or inheritance among you." Not all should be taken to the main feast - some should be left for taking care of the Levites who serve at home. 14:28 "At the end of every third year you shall bring out all the tithe of your produce in that year, and shall deposit it in your town." Deut 26:12

97 14:29 "The Levite, because he has no portion or inheritance among you, and the alien, the orphan and the widow who stays in your city, so that hwhy your God may bless you in all the work of your hand which you do." The promise of blessing in ALL you may do. Ps 1. God is a giver and will bless those who have the same attitude. Neg 13:12

98 2 Chron 31 2 And Hezekiah appointed the divisions of the priests and the Levites according to their divisions, each man according to his service, the priests and Levites for burnt offerings and peace offerings, to serve, to give thanks, and to praise in the gates of the camp of hwhy. 3 The king also appointed a portion of his possessions for the burnt offerings: for the morning and evening burnt offerings, the burnt offerings for the Sabbaths and the new moons and the set feasts, as it is written in the Law of hwhy. 4 Moreover he commanded the people who dwelt in Yerushalayim to give the portion for the priests and the Levites, that they might grow strong in the Law of hwhy. 5 As soon as the word spread, the children of Yisra’el brought in abundance the first fruits of grain and wine, oil and honey, and of all the produce of the field; and they brought in abundantly the tithe of everything.

99 6 And the children of Yisra’el and Y’hudah, who dwelt in the cities of Y’hudah, brought the tithe of oxen and sheep; also the tithe of set-apart things which were consecrated to hwhy their God they laid in heaps upon heaps. 7 In the third month they began laying them in heaps, and they finished in the seventh month. 8 And when Hezekiah and the rulers came and saw the heaps, they blessed hwhy and His people Yisra’el. 9 And Hezekiah questioned the priests and the Levites concerning the heaps. 10 And Azariah the chief priest, from the house of Zadok, answered him and said, Since the people began to bring the offerings into the house of hwhy, we have had enough to eat and have plenty left, for hwhy has blessed His people; and what is left is this great abundance.

100 Neg 10:38 And the priest, the son of Aaron, shall be with the Levites when the Levites receive tithes; and the Levites shall bring up a tithe of the tithes to the house of our God, to the rooms of the storehouse. It seems first that there should be control at the receiving of money and secondly that the priests receive with the Levites. All who serve in His Kingdom is able to receive. People have a question to whom they may give - I believe you should take care of those teaching over you and be careful to see that it is used for His Kingdom - not luxury and waste. Also be open for His Spirit in these times. A tenth of what is received again is given to the storehouse see Num 18:26 - this is for taking care of poor and specifically not for the priests.

101 Neg 10:39 For the children of Yisra’el and the children of Levi shall bring the offering of the grain, of the new wine and the oil, to the rooms where the articles of the sanctuary are, where the priests who minister and the gatekeepers and the singers are; and we will not neglect the house of our God. I see here that not the tithing but offerings are used to take care of the buildings and is done by all who serve there

102 Num 18:26 Speak thus to the Levites, and say to them: When you take from the children of Yisra’el the tithes which I have given you from them as your inheritance, then you shall offer up a heave offering of it unto hwhy, a tithe of the tithe. Even 'fulltime workers' and those receiving tithes from others should pay tithes into God's storehouse. Where is God's storehouse? I believe in today's system it is all places and people serving the Kingdom with a Kingdom attitude and way. Not those working as a job and not those doing God's work for money. Those in His service should be taken care of - not made rich. Needs should be filled, not salaries paid.

103 Lev 27:30 And all the tithe of the land, whether of the seed of the land or of the fruit of the tree, is hwhy's. It is holy unto hwhy. Lev 27:31 If a man will pay to redeem any of his tithes, he shall add one-fifth to it.
