1 Polishing Peel, The second generation technology.
Today, we are please to introduce to you Polishing Peel, new era of innovations. “ Clinical skin care without the clinic” Polishing Peel resurfaces and polishes skin to immediately deliver fresh, glowing complexion benefits that are clinically proven to be equivalent to a professional microdermabrasion treatment.

2 Did you know? Rough skin can be safely smoothed by algae, enzymes, and acids.

3 Factors Affecting Texture
Dry Skin Sun Exposure Acne Aging Nutritional Deficiencies Medical Conditions Skin Conditions

4 Retexturization Methods
Physical exfoliation Abrasive action—rubbing facial skin with hands while washing Abrasive texture—using a rough textured washcloth Abrasive particles—exfoliating with granular particles Chemical exfoliation Acids Proteolytic enzymes Definition: Abrasive particles can be derived from many sources and can range in size, shape, and number. Function: They work by removing the uppermost layers of dead skin cells from the surface of the skin. Particle choice depends on desired retexturization result. Some examples are: Walnut shells—semi-smooth particles effectively scrub away layers of damaged, dead skin cells. Marine Diatoms*—small, smooth particles gently remove upper layer of dull, dead skin cells. Chemical Peel -Function: An acid works by chemically dissolving the connection between the cells in the outer layers of our skin’s surface. Result: Evenly reveals younger cells on the surface of the skin for soft, smooth skin, and glowing, uniform light reflection. Proteolytic enzymes -Function: A proteolytic enzyme works by breaking down the proteins that bind cells together in the outer layers of our skin.

5 A Brief History of Microdermabrasion
Developed in Italy in 1985; its use was widespread in European countries prior to its introduction and popularity in the U.S. Medical microdermabrasion became available in the United States in In Europe, where the technology originated, microdermabrasion has been used successfully since at least 1992 to treat acne, fine lines and wrinkles, unwanted pigmentation and other superficial skin damage.

6 “Second Generation Technology"
Since 1999 sales of microdermabrasion equipment have doubled. 8,000 systems will be used to perform 6 million skin treatment procedures in 2000. microdermabrasion now ranks as the 7th most common cosmetic procedure performed by plastic surgeons. In less than three years, microdermabrasion has become the most popular and highest volume facial rejuvenation procedure in the world.

7 How it works Uses sterile micro-crystals to exfoliate the stratum corneum without anesthesia. By moving a hand piece across the skin, the procedure delivers a precise stream of crystals onto the skin's surface. The scale-like, lifeless epidermal cells and the crystals are then suctioned away to reveal a fresh, invigorated skin surface.

8 Treatment is delivered using an electro-mechanical device gently abrades the skin surface using chemically inert micro-crystals and air suction. The clinician uses a hand piece to direct a stream of crystals and mild suction exactly where needed on the patient's skin. The gentle abrasive action of the crystals combines with the suction to exfoliate the epidermis while uncovering the smooth under layer to promote a thicker, healthier dermis.

9 Benefits Patients require no anesthesia.
Experience no "down time”,no recovery time required . For optimal results patients need treatments. 18 Key Ingredients Pumpkin enzymes Bentonite clay
Pumpkin enzyme immediately works to re-surface and smooth skin by dissolving built-up dead and damaged cells. Bentonite clay, a natural clay derived from volcanic ash, acts as a magnet to remove dulling skin cells and toxins, then polish for a fresh, bright complexion. Polygonum extract (Polygonum cuppidadum) offers soothing antioxidant protection from skin-damaging free radicals.

19 Pumpkin Enzymes Chemical Exfoliation Proteolytic enzymes
Pumpkin enzyme immediately works to re-surface and smooth skin by dissolving built-up dead and damaged cells. Pumpkin enzymes are formed by fermenting the pumpkin fruit with Lactobacillus Lacti. This breaks down many of the complex biomolecules releasing phytochemicals which has proteolytic enzymes. Major benefits of proteolytic enzyme are mild exfoliation, meaning they breakdown proteins into smaller constituent parts. After the dead skin has loosened, the bentonite clay binds to it.

20 Bentonite Clay How it works? like a magnet to pull out toxin from skin
The name bentonite refers to a clay first identified in cretaceous rocks in Fort Benton, Wyoming. Although bentonite deposits occur worldwide, many of the largest concentrations are found in The Great Plains area in North America. According to Yerba Prima, a company based in Ashland, Oregon, which markets Great Plains Bentonite, the clay’s minerals are negatively charged while toxins tends to be positively charged; hence the clay’s attraction works like a magnet. toxins toxins

21 Clinical Results 97% believed that their skin felt softer.
In a split face study: 97% believed that their skin felt softer. 91% felt that their skin/complexion was resurfaced, and smoother. In a 24-subject randomized, non-blinded, split-face study the immediate feel of the skin after a standard professional microdermabrasion procedure was compared to the feel of the skin after one treatment with Nu Skin Polishing Peel. Both the professional microdermabrasion procedure and the Nu Skin Polishing Peel were evaluated subjectively and objectively on each participant to avoid variation due to skin type, sensitivity, age and other variables. Participants were randomly assigned to have the standard professional microdermabrasion procedure performed on one half of their face and have Nu Skin Polishing Peel on the other half of their face. Participants performed after-feel and visual evaluations then filled out a consumer questionnaire immediately after the two procedures were completed. Two independent graders also evaluated each participant’s skin smoothness by feel and appearance by visual examination. When asked to list any differences noticed in the feel of their skin after the treatments, the Polishing Peel included comments such as: soft, smooth, silky and refreshed. Both groups scored similarly for the following attributes: Skin felt resurfaced , felt smoother, felt softer after treatments. Participants were asked to rate the increase in skin smoothness. For the side of the face treated with microdermabrasion, 54% selected ‘much smoother’, 42% selected ‘somewhat smoother’, and 4% selected ‘slightly smoother’. For the other side of the face treated with Nu Skin Polishing Peel, 58% of the participants selected ‘much smoother’, 38% selected ‘somewhat smoother’, and 4% selected ‘slightly smoother’. When asked about their overall reaction to how the treatment made their skin feel 94% ‘liked it’ for the side of the face treated with microdermabrasion and 96% ‘liked it’ for the side of the face treated with Nu Skin Polishing Peel. Positive benefits from both samples included glowing, smooth, and reduction in pore size. The independent graders could not determine which side was treated with the professional microdermabrasion machine versus Nu Skin Polishing Peel. Results from this clinical study indicate that Polishing Peel gives equivalent results to professional microdermabrasion treatments.Testimonials Clinical • In a split face study, 91% of participants said their skin felt resurfaced after the Polishing Peel treatment, and said Polishing Peel provided the same skin smoothing results as professional microdermabrasion. • Participants compared the results of a professional resurfacing session (performed on one-half of their face) to the results of the Polishing Peel treatment (applied to the other half). Following the treatments, the immediate feel of the skin was evaluated. Polishing Peel was preferred by the majority of participants, and 97% said their skin was softer after Polishing Peel.

22 Polishing Peel Results clinically proven to be equivalent to a professional microdermabrasion treatment. = Resurfaced = = Smoother = = Softer = In comparing Polishing Peel against Microdermabrasion, both groups scored similarly for the following post-treatment attributes. Skin felt: resurfaced smoother softer Without leaving your home, battling with traffic, you can have equivalent professional Mircodermabrasion treatment at home. Instant resurfaces and polishes for beautiful, soft smooth skin.

37 F & Q 1. How long do I leave Polishing Peel on before removing?
2. How much product should I apply? 3. How often do I use Polishing Peel? 4. How is Polishing Peel different from microdermabrasion? 5. How is Polishing Peel similar to microdermabrasion? 6. What can I do if Polishing Peel becomes too dry? 7. What products should not be used with Polishing Peel? Answer: Let stand for approximately one to two minutes—or until product firms (do not allow product to dry completely). You should use enough product to form an evenly distributed, visible layer on the surface of your face and neck. For best results, use three times the first week and twice a week thereafter to maintain a polished appearance. Most clinical microdermabrasion and in-home microdermabrasion products use abrasive crystal particles (aluminum oxide) to resurface the skin. These abrasive particles leave tiny scratches on the surface of the skin. Polishing Peel is free of these abrasive particles and does not leave scratches on the surface of the skin, so light is reflected more evenly, creating a luminous glow to the complexion. Polishing Peel provides skin resurfacing, smoothing, and softening benefits equivalent to a professional microdermabrasion session. In a split-face study, 91 percent of participants said their skin felt resurfaced after the Polishing Peel treatment, and said Polishing PeelAA provided the same skin smoothing results as professional microdermabrasion. Polishing Peel was preferred by the majority of participants, and 97 percent said their skin was softer after Polishing Peel. Lightly misting the skin with NaPCA Moisture Mist works well. Do not over moisten. Nu Skin 180 Cell Renewal Fluid may cause some skin to be more sensitive. Therefore, do not use Polishing Peel with Cell Renewal Fluid if irritation occurs.
