3 Nepal Flag The Nepali flag is the only nation with a non-rectangular flag. The two triangles symbolize the Himalaya Mountains and represent the two major religions, Hinduism and Buddhism

4 Some facts about Nepal Nepal is a tiny country in the Asian continent
The capital of Nepal is Kathmandu. The population of Nepal is around 25 million and is five times bigger than Scotland. Nepal has some of the tallest mountains in the world, one of them being Mount Everest. It is bordered by China on its north and India on its south, east and west. Did you know that the flag of Nepal is the only flag in the world that is not rectangular or not quadrilateral in shape? The crimson red colour of the flag signifies the colour of its national flower, rhododendron. The blue border of the flag symbolizes peace. The shape of the flag has two triangles which stand for the mountains of Nepal.

6 Nepal is a land locked country, which means it is surrounded by various countries on all sides and has no sea border. Hinduism is the religion that is followed by many in Nepal but Buddhism is also a major religion here and is followed by many people. As far as food is considered, the majority of the Nepalese are vegetarians. Goat is preferred as meat. Lentils, rice, millet and corn are also preferred by people. Nepali is the official language, but a majority of the population also speaks and understands English.
