The Anglo-Saxon styweard is the person in charge of feeding the people in the manor, Hence the steward came to mean as the one who was responsible to the lord of the manor for managing essential resources and functions

8. Stewardship is essentially a theological understanding of a total way of life. It is a reason for lifting the discussion of money to a spiritual level.
