2 Sibilance: a sound characterized by pronouncing words with the letter 's'. The letter 's' should sound like a hissing sound. Motif: a recurring subject, theme, idea, etc. Alliteration: the repetition of a consonant sound. Repetition: repeating words, phrases or images to emphasise them. Imagery: pictures in your head created by the words.
