13 EES Changes for Office 365 for Education

14 EES Basics What is EES? Subscription program for all qualifying academic customers Allows institutions to standardize on Microsoft Platform products EES Details Higher and primary/secondary education institutions Institution-wide commitment for desktop platform products Two desktop platform product options (Education Desktop with Core CAL or ECAL) Full range of O365 Offers available (Add-ons, Standalones, A2, A3, A4, OSUB) Count employees (FTE) – rates are different for full-time/part-time and faculty/staff License additional products in any quantity Qualification through Desktop or Online products

15 EES Minimum Requirements
1,000 FTE Organization-wide Commitment of at least one Desktop Platform Product 1,000 Users min order of at least one Platform Online Service OR Desktop Platform Products Platform Online Services OSUB Plan A4 Plan A3 Customers of any size that only want A2 will get it through the MOCP simplified buying process. Plan A2 OSUB - Office Professional Plus in Office 365. If licensing OSUB, it must be organization wide for all users with a minimum of 1000 users. Customer may meet the minimum requirements either through Faculty/Staff ordering or through Student Option ordering.

16 Add-ons Add-ons are a new concept being introduced in line with the June 1st launch of O365 for Academic. Add-ons provide a simple way for our customers to move from on-premises to online. Any customer wishing to purchase an add-on will be charged an add-on SKU Once a customer has qualified for EES through the desktop route, add-on SKUs can be ordered in any quantity to cover those number of users who wish to move online

17 Add-ons vs. Step-ups: Definitions Step-up SKU or Add-on SKU:
Step-up SKUs allow you to migrate to higher version of a software already licensed Add-on SKUs allow to migrate from on-premises to online Step-up SKU or Add-on SKU: If customer already has a desktop platform product and would like to add O365 product e.g. A3 or A4, they will pay an add-on SKU If a customer already has an A plan and would like to migrate to a higher one e.g. A3 to A4, they will pay a step-up SKU, regardless of whether the A3 was purchased as full USL or add-on At the anniversary or renewal of their subscription if the customer wishes to stay with A4, they can purchase the A4 add-on (for on-premises customers) or A4 USL (for cloud customers)

18 Add-on SKUs for Desktop Platform Customers
Add-On SKUs are priced to give you credit for on-premises licenses of Office and CAL Suites so you can move to the cloud at your own pace. Example: - EES customer with Core CAL and Office Pro Plus on premises wants to add A3 suite for Faculty: Office Pro Plus Core CAL or E-CAL Office A3 Add-on On premises Online Customer would pay $2.2 per user/month for the Add-on as opposed to $4.5 for the full A3 suite

The subscription will be consumed by either the existing tenant or a new tenant (Sign In or Sign Up respectively) and this cannot be undone. Sign In This option is for a trial customer who chooses to RETAIN their O365 trial data, settings and their existing on microsoft.com domain during their transition from trial to a paid subscription. Sign Up For an Academic customer purchase O365 via their EES and has never participated in an O365 trial Also for trial customer who wants a wholly NEW O365 subscription when they transition from their existing trial to newly created paid subscription.
