3 Overview of the Ring MaxTM System
What is a ring groove? An API (American Petroleum Institute) specified groove used in the oil and gas industry that is machined in the face of 2 mating surfaces (flanges) to accept a metallic ring that forms the seal when assembled. 3

5 Overview of the Ring MaxTM System
American Petroleum Institute (API) standard grooves “R” ring gasket “RX” ring gasket “BX” ring gasket

6 Overview of the Ring MaxTM System
“R” ring gasket M8, Model R oval is a standard ring joint gasket designed for flanges with standard ring joint grooves. M9, Model R octagonal is a standard ring joint gasket designed for flanges with standard ring joint grooves.

7 Overview of the Ring MaxTM System
“RX” ring gasket M12, Model RX is a ring joint gasket for pressures up to approximately 700 bar. This model is characterized as “pressure energized”, the outer sealing surfaces form the first contact with the flanges. Higher pressure causes increased gasket stress, improving the efficiency of the seal. RX seals are interchangeable with the R model groove.

8 Overview of the Ring MaxTM System
“BX” ring gasket M11, model BX is a ring joint gasket for very high pressures (up to 1500 bar). This gasket is suited only for API-type BX flanges and grooves. BX gaskets incorporate a pressure balance hole to ensure equalization of pressure.

50 Greenleaf ® Ring MaxTM 3 Technical Data
2 Piece Ring Max™ design Allows for multiple spindle mounts Gives more versatility to smaller Sub – Contract machine shops High accuracy of repeatability More integration allowing customers to use on all available machines Cost effective, efficient solutions for shank or head replacement in event of damage. 50

51 Where Does This Tool Fit
Into The Marketplace? Imagine a subcontract machine shop manufacturing Oil & Gas equipment machining API ring grooves with : 2 x VMC’s with HSK-100 spindle mounts 3 x HMC’s with Cat 50 spindle mount 1 x VMC with BT-50 spindle mount 2 x Turn / Mill machines with DIN 51

52 Problems Presented By The Shop Manager:
Too many machines with different back ends Too much investment required to be able to run on all machines Not enough ring grooves being machined to warrant tooling up all machines 52
