5. The Project…
Development of a project for the commercialization of natural gas-based petrochemicals.
The plant which will be constructed will produce 1,000,000 tonnes per year of Methanol
140,000 tonnes per year of Methanol produced will be used to produce 100,000 tonnes per year of Di-Methyl-Ether (DME).

6. What is the current status of the project?
April 8, The Government of Trinidad and Tobago (GORTT) and the Mitsubishi Consortium signed a Project Development Agreement

Project Milestones
The Project need to successfully complete many works during the Pre-Development Stage (CEC / Contracts Negotiation / Finance Arrangement / etc).
Target Final Investment Decision by Shareholders March, 2014.
Until the Final Investment Decision, a temporary office of CGCL for inquiry will be located at NEC’s Communication Centre.
After the Final Investment Decision a permanent office will be opened in La Brea

There is no known adverse negative health impact from the production of Methanol & DME

Water Effluent– Appropriate treatment. There is no expected adverse environmental impact
Air Quality and Noise will be monitored and will be within EMA requirement.

Traffic - There will be increased traffic during construction. As part of the CEC requirement a Traffic Management Plan will be developed.
