2 Microsoft® System Center 2012 Software Center & Application Catalog
Welcome to the future of application installation. You as LISD staff members will no longer have to wait or have administrator approval to install the basic software that is used throughout the school district. You now have the ability to install software at your own leisure. No product keys will be required or additional logins. You click and install!  (be sure to ONLY use Internet Explorer( ) it is the only compatible browser to install programs via the Application Catalog)

3 Microsoft® System Center 2012 Software Center & Application Catalog
To access via Software Center: Click on the Start button at the bottom left of your screen, select all programs, select Microsoft System Center 2012, and then select Software Center.

8 Microsoft® System Center 2012 Software Center & Application Catalog
If any application you select to install requires approval due to limited licensing, a notification is sent to the SCCM Administrators. The SCCM Administrators will then contact the appropriate department head for approval of the install. You will be notified if approved or denied. If approved, you will then have the ability to install the application. This is the new process for installing applications within the district. Meaning, if you submit an Eduphoria work order requesting your adobe flash to be updated for example, the work order will be closed and you will be directed to the SCCM Application Catalog for fresh installs and updates. This will also apply to those who receive a new computer for example. You will have the ability now to choose what applications you want installed on your computer, as we all know not everyone uses every application that the district provides. Any questions regarding SCCM?

9 LISD WiFi/BYOD Due to the changes in WiFi for staff, a new RUP was created and all staff members are required to sign the updated version. BYOD for staff: You know are officially invited to bring your personal devices to use on the LISD network. The only restriction is that all personal devices will be used on the LISDPROD network ONLY. Staff will no longer have their devices on LISDSEC. LISDSEC is now reserved for student devices only. The key differences are that LISDPROD is completely unfiltered Internet access and devices will be secluded from the rest of the network for improved network security. What seclusion means, is that you will not be allowed to access server shares or network shares with personal devices to protect the network from accidental transfer of viruses, malware, spyware, etc. Staff devices found on LISDSEC will be blocked from the wireless network.

10 LISD WiFi/BYOD The process for connecting your personal device to LISDPROD is by accessing the Zero-IT Activation link: If you already have your personal device on LISDSEC, you only need to access this link from a Web browser. After activation is completed, you will then select LISDPROD. If you do not have your personal device on the LISDSEC, then you will access BYOD-Portal first, then type the above link into a Web browser to activate your device. You will then have to select LISDPROD. You can activate your smartphone and laptop/tablet if you like. You connect to the WiFi at your own risk. The Technology Department will not troubleshoot hardware issues. Meaning, you must know how to use your device and know how to connect to WiFi networks on your own. The only issue that Technology will address is if the activation link does not accept your user credentials. Per the updated RUP you will be required to review any material on your personal device before sharing with students since the Internet access on the device is unfiltered. You will NOT give your device to a student to use nor will you give them the activation link.

11 LISD WiFi/BYOD The process for connecting your personal device to LISDPROD is by accessing the Zero-IT Activation link: TYPE YOUR DOMAIN (SCHOOL COMPUTER) LOGIN INFORMATION HERE CLICK LOG IN

12 LISD WiFi/BYOD The process for connecting your personal device to LISDPROD is by accessing the Zero-IT Activation link: After entering your credentials and clicking log in, you will see this window: As you can see, the prov.exe downloaded marked unsafe because it cannot be verified. It is ok, you need to run this file on your device because this is the security certificate that will allow you to connect automatically each day. This window tells you that a prov.exe file should have auto-downloaded. If it did not, you click here.

13 LISD WiFi/BYOD The process for connecting your personal device to LISDPROD is by accessing the Zero-IT Activation link: After you run the prov.exe you will then be able to go back to your listing of available WiFi networks and select LISDPROD. If you run into any issues while performing the automatic activation, you can select this link in order to get the manual steps:

14 LISD WiFi/BYOD The process for connecting your personal device to LISDPROD is by accessing the Zero-IT Activation link: After selecting the link for the manual steps, this window appears: WiFi network to manually select Network Key to manually enter when prompted

15 LISD WiFi/BYOD The process for connecting your personal device to LISDPROD is by accessing the Zero-IT Activation link: If you have completed either the automatic activation or manual activation, WELCOME TO LISD WIFI !  Any questions regarding LISD WiFi access?

16 FOLDER REDIRECTION What does folder redirection mean for you? No more roaming profiles!! Yippee!  With roaming profiles, your entire profile was downloaded to every computer you logged into. This is why your login time could be excessive, especially on the wireless network. Faster log in times (no other change to your login) Faster log off times All documents, desktop, and favorites are saved to the server

17 FOLDER REDIRECTION You should see this icon in the lower right hand corner of your desktop on the toolbar: This is the Microsoft Active Sync icon for those that are unfamiliar with MS Active Sync. If there is an issue with your folder sync, either a red ‘x’ or yellow triangle will appear.

18 FOLDER REDIRECTION If there is an error with your syncing, right click on this icon and select Open Sync Center.

19 FOLDER REDIRECTION After you select Open Sync Center, this window appears: From this window you will see if your sync failed or completed here. You will also have the ability to view and resolve sync conflicts here. You will be able view sync results here. You will be able to manage offline files here.

20 FOLDER REDIRECTION Viewing Syncing Conflicts:
After you select View Sync Conflicts the window will change to this. If there are any conflicts, they will be listed here. You can select each conflict and will have the ability to resolve. You will choose whether to keep what is on the server or what is on your desktop.

21 FOLDER REDIRECTION Viewing Sync Results:
All sync errors will appear here. As you can see, I have several errors related to my Brother Control Center software. Since I am not concerned with these particular errors, I can right click on them and select ignore.

22 FOLDER REDIRECTION Managing Offline Files:
As you can see, I have offline files enabled so my only top option is to disabled offline files. For those that use a laptop and want to be able to access their files outside of our network, you must make sure offline files is enabled. If not, you will not be able to access any of your documents. You can also view your offline files to determine if all of your files are showing to be available offline correctly by clicking here.

23 FOLDER REDIRECTION If at anytime you are have questions/concerns about your folder redirection or if you are experiencing issues you are unable to resolve, please open an Eduphoria work order. There is an icon for Folder Redirection. Any questions regarding Folder Redirection?

24 ~Enjoy the remainder of your day ~
Open Forum Now is the time to ask any IT questions or bring up concerns, etc. that you think need to be addressed or you need assistance with.  ~Enjoy the remainder of your day ~
