1. Saludos a todos.
Estás de vacaciones en Madrid, España. Durante la semana pasada viste el museo Prado y la Guernica en el museo Reina Sofia. Comiste las tapas y los resfrescos en la Plaza Mayor y visitaste El Rastro el domingo.

2. Preparamos
Your friend can’t wait to see some new places and practice his/her Spanish. You and your friend will decide on two cities/towns you’re going to visit over the next week. Even though it’s fun to go backpacking, I need to have the details before you venture out on your own. You have no more than 750 euros between you for the week for all your costs.

3. Preparamos After completing the investigation you will decide:
Where you’re going
What you want to see
Where you are staying
Where you will eat
As you do so, you will complete the Notes worksheet, which will help you answer questions in Spanish about your trip, and finally, write a postcard home from your trip.

4. Las ciudades ¿Adónde vamos?
It’s hard to decide where to go. You might be interested in visiting the cosmopolitan city of Barcelona, with its eclectic architecture, or the Moorish influences in the city of Granada. Or maybe you’re interested in the beaches of la Costa del Sol. Toledo and Segovia are quaint medeival towns with winding streets and castles to visit. Wherever you go, you will have your own adventure!

5. Las ciudades
Once you have chosen your cities, you better check out el tiempo. It’s not so fun to be at the beach if it’s going to rain. You may have to change your city of choice.

6. Alojamiento ¿Dónde debes quedar y donde quieres comer?
You can find lots of places to stay in any town or city. The question is how much you want to pay. More importantly, is it safe and clean?
Check out the links to find a place to eat and a place to stay in your city.

7. La cultura, las actividades
¿Qué van a hacer?
Spain is rich in culture; from bullfights to flamenco dancing, museums, parks, cathedrals, festivals and more. There are so many things to do and places to see in each town. Hopefully you saved some money in your budget!
Click on the flamenco dancers and decide what you want to do.

8. El transporte ¿Cómo viajan?
Decide how you want to travel: en avión, en autobús, o en tren.
You’ll need to check the schedules and the prices. Spend your money and time wisely. Click on each picture to get your information.

9. El itinerario
Use the blue itinerario worksheet to prepare for writing a postcard which will be the final product of this project.
Do your best to answer the questions in complete sentences. You can use those questions as a rough draft for your postcard.
Ask classmates or use your notes/ textbook to edit your work. I will not edit writing before it is turned in.
